Nilah Dress: Sew Along Day 4~Bodice Construction

Welcome back to Day 4 of the Nilah Sew Along.  I forgot to post this yesterday. Right!! But here it is!

If you missed our previous sew along posts, please click here for Day 3.  Today we are going to talk about how to construct the bodice!

If you still haven’t purchased Nilah, you can still get the English or Dutch version on sale for $5.95.

First of all, you need to remember that you will use a stretch stitch (zigzag stitch) throughout!

Sew Along Day 4~Bodice Construction

Follow step 1-2 of the pattern tutorial to sew the shoulder seams together. If you prefer step by step photo tutorial for this step please visit this link.

IMPORTANT: If you are working with sleeveless version or prefer lining over neckband, go to this link for step by step photo tutorial. If you are working with sleeve version and prefer neckband over lining, go to this link.

Next you want to sew around the armhole.  For sleeveless version, visit this link for step by step photo tutorial on how to sew a fully lined sleeveless bodice. For sleeve version, follow step 5 of the pattern tutorial to prepare and attach sleeves.

You are almost done! To finish the bodice you would want to sew the side seams. For sleeveless version, visit this link for step by step photo tutorial on how to sew the side seams. For sleeve version, follow step 6 of the pattern tutorial to close the side seams.

There you done!
