Today we will be talking about how to insert those waist pieces in our newest design, Sanamu Dress & Jumpsuit.
During testing it was a bit difficult to follow the elasticised waist piece illustrations. So today we decided to explain this step using real photos.
Note: You will need your copy of Sanamu pattern (English version , Dutch version or French version ) to do this. And If you buy more than one pattern we have a save 20% rule in the cart. No code needed.
Shall we begin?
Tutorial: Inserting Waist Piece In Sanamu Dress
Step 1: Press the short sides of the waist piece in 1/4” (0.5 cm) to hide the raw edges.
Step 2: Then fold in half so the short sides are touching.
Step 3: Create a casing: Take your folded piece still WS together and sew a line 3/8” (1 cm) from the raw edges.
Step 4: Take your elastic (see page 10 of the pattern tutorial) and insert it into the tube you just created and baste it in place, leave approximately 1/4” (0.5 cm) of elastic hanging on each side.
Step 5: Insert the piece between the sides (from the notch down the bodice bottom) where you left the opening previously; approximately 1/4” (0.5 cm) in. Secure the piece in place by following the stitching line you created in Step 3 of the pattern tutorial.
You did it!!!!
Stand back & enjoy your amazing work!
