I recently came across roll up sleeve cuffs and I immediately fall in love. I decided to add this detail in our newest design The Sai Onesie PJs and the finished detail is priceless. Would you like to know how to add this detail? The tutorial below will guide you. Its quite simple and fast!

Roll-Up Cuff Tutorial
Note: You will need our Sai Onesie PJs pattern for this. For Dutch version click here and for English version click here.
Let’s follow these steps!
Step 1: Take your cuff piece or pieces and join them to a loop along the short sides, RS together. Press the seam allowances open or grade.
Step 2: Fold the band WS together and get ready to attach. But before attaching, divide the cuffs and sleeve and leg into two equal parts (side seam and centre point) and mark with pins.
Step 3: With the garment RS out, place the cuff inside the sleeve or leg WS of sleeve (leg) touching RS of cuff. Match the outer raw edges of the cuff to the outer edge of the sleeve or leg. Pin and sew using a stretch stitch. Finish seams. Pull the cuff out and press the seam towards the sleeves.

Step 4: Now fold the sleeve cuff over until it just covers the seam line and pin in place (approximately 5/8” (1.5 cm)). Sew “in the ditch” along the sleeves seam line and the cuff center line to secure the cuff to the sleeve or leg.
Take a peek inside.
Sew in the ditch.
You are done!
