I just love the simplicity and the look of this placket in our Sai Pjs. And the best part is its so easy to create and you won’t have any issues with bulkiness. It’s so cozy and comfortable.
You also do not need a separate placket for this. It is already drafted into the front pieces. Cool right? So today I have a tutorial for you how to create a front placket.
Shall we begin?

Step 1: Take your front pieces and finish the wearer’s left placket with the lock machine or zigzag stitch WS up.
Step 2: Next, fold the finished edge 1/2” (1.25 cm) towards the WS. Press and sew it from the neck to bottom of the placket.
Here how it should look on the inside of the garment after fold towards the WS.
Step 3: Next, fold the wearer’s right placket two times 1/2” (1.25 cm) towards the WS. Press and sew it from the neck to bottom of the placket.
This is how it should like on the inside.
This is how it should look after sewing the placket on both sides.
Now take your wearer’s right placket and overlap it on top of the left placket. Pin and sew the bottom of the placket.
You are done!
Stand back & enjoy your amazing work!
Happy sewing xxx
